The links you will find here do not necessarily reflect the opinions and viewpoints of the Institute, they are only included to provide several additional viewpoints and sources of information that you might be unaware of.

On the Path towards Christian Unity is a 15-part video series that explores the broad topic of ecumenism in the Catholic Church. Guided by the landmark documents of the Second Vatican Council, On the Path toward Christian Unity, covers both foundational concepts and pastoral applications for the lay person, religious, priest, beginner or veteran, practitioner or student of the ecumenical movement. The series also comes with a group and study guide to help facilitate conversation and reflection. The 15 short 3-6 minute talks are offered by a variety of individuals with distinct expertise in the area of ecumenism. The first talk, The Importance of Friendship, is presented by Bishop Denis J. Madden, chairman of the Committee for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs. Other talks are given by USCCB staff members and participants and collaborators of the many ecumenical dialogues in which the USCCB is engaged.

Institute for Policy Research and Catholic Studies at Catholic University - a good site to read and explore the thoughts of Catholic scholars and researchers on a variety of social issues.

The Word on Fire -- Fr. Robert Baron's Sunday homilies. An excellent resource for those giving homilies and anyone wanting to delve deeply into the readings of the Mass. Highly recommended!
Scranton diocese adopts social networking site www.AreYouCatholic.com

The Diocese of Scranton in PA is an early adopter of the site AreYouCatholic.com. The site focuses on bringing the world together one good deed at a time. The site currently reaches parishioners across the world and will be another medium for Catholic evangelization and faith sharing.
AreYouCatholic.com is currently home to 16 Catholic Churches and over 175 Good Deeds to date. The churches are registered by a member from the church and currently represent the United States, Canada, and Africa. Plans are to get the site in the hands of the Catholic youth, Catholic missionaries, and Catholics across the world. The site is completely free and requires no login information.
Relevant Radio -- Have you heard of Relevant Radio? It's a network of radio stations that specialize in Catholic News and Views -- adding a very important and relavent viewpoint to our day to day lives. If it isn't available in your neighborhood, don't worry! You can log on here and stream it live through your computer. You'll find some samples on our home page of a few interviews with Gene Hemrick.

Catholic Homilies -- a tremendous resource for homilies -- Sunday, Weekday and Special Occasions
Thomas Merton and the Quest -- Features an article by Randy De Trinis originally published in The Merton Seasonal, a quarterly of The International Thomas Merton Society. It is a memoir of a monk's life at the Trappist Monastery of Our Lady of Gethsemani in Kentucky with Thomas Merton as his spiritual director.
The Daily Gospel -- Looking for a place to read and reflect on today's Gospel passage? Look no further! Bookmark this site and, if you can, help them keep up their good work with your words of support and anything else you can offer.
PornHarms -- A website launched earlier this year that contains a database of online articles and essays on the harmful effects of pornography.
The Institute for Policy Research and Catholic Studies. [IPR]-- Has a new name and a new web site and a whole new look -- but it still researches spirituality and its relationship to the Church and our Faith.
Saint Vincent Archabbey -- Saint Vincent Archabbey is the oldest Benedictine monastery in the United States. The Benedictines of Saint Vincent operate Saint Vincent College and Saint Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. In addition, they also minister in other apostolates on campus, all over Pennsylvania, in several other states and overseas.

Empowering young Hispanics for Leadership in Church and Society -- features La Biblia Catolica para Jovenes (BCJ), the first Catholic Bible in Spanish designed for youth and young adults.
The Lay Centre -- Founded in 1986, the Lay Centre provides a residence and formation program for lay students studying at the pontifical faculties in Rome. The Lay Centre also provides opportunities for theological and spiritual enrichment to the larger community of lay students in Rome. Additionally, during the academic year, the Lay Centre offers on-going programs of faith formation for lay persons living in and around Rome. Over the past several years, the Lay Centre has expanded its outreach by offering programs to people interested in furthering their spiritual growth from around the world.
The Washington Theological Consortium is a group of eighteen seminaries and related institutions in the Washington, DC area.
The Bible -- The Vatican's Congregation for the Clergy has unveiled a web site offering the Bible in nine languages, the Code of Canon Law and commentary on Sunday liturgy. Biblical texts are available in Hebrew, Greek, Latin, English, Italian, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese. Click on this link and choose your favorite language.

Principal texts of the magisterium on the Church's social doctrine, arranged systematically, are now available for consultation on Internet. It is the digital version of the "Social Agenda: A Collection of Magisterial Texts," published in April 2000 by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace.
Shortly before his death, the president of the pontifical council, Cardinal Fransois Xavier Nguyn Van Thun, expressed the wish that this text be made more widely available throughout the world. The "Social Agenda" is now available and downloadable at www.thesocialagenda.com and www.thesocialagenda.org.
The "Social Agenda" contains 75 documents of the magisterium, beginning with St. Clement and St. Augustine, and including recent popes such as Leo XIII and others from the 20th century. It addresses all dimensions of the Church's social teaching.
At the 2000 launch of the "Social Agenda," Cardinal Van Thun commented: "This volume is an optimal instrument for those who want to have direct contact with the magisterial sources and, at the same time, a systematic presentation of them."
The Saint Vincent Pallotti Center -- Have you ever considered being a volunteer? Many people feel the call to serve others, and some choose to answer that call by entering a full-time volunteer program. There are hundreds of volunteer programs available offering a wide range of positions, living situations, and locations.
The Mary Page, maintained by The Marian Library/International Marian Research Institute at the University of Dayton in Ohio, is an international center of research and study on the role of Mary in Christian life.
Community of Sant'Egidio -- The Community of Sant'Egidio is a "Church public lay association." It began in Rome in 1968, in the period following the Second Vatican Council. Today it is a movement of lay people and has more than 40,000 members, dedicated to evangelisation and charity, in Rome, Italy and in more than 60 countries throughout the world.

Daily Prayer Online -- Produced by the Irish Jesuits. A great site to take a break and review the Gospel text for the day online. Updated Daily!
St. Luke's Institute -- An organization that focuses on participating in the healing ministry of Christ by promoting the health and well being of Catholic clergy and women and men religious in the United States and abroad by providing mental health services, education and wellness programs, and conducting research in the area.
The National Association of Church Personnel Administrators (NACPA) -- a membership organization dedicated to the development and promotion of just personnel practices rooted in gospel values. Log on for information about their seminars, workshops, publications and consultations.
