Favorite Authors of Catholic Priests
A recent study by the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) of the University of Chicago for a Duke Divinity School project found that the ten authors for Catholic clergy in descending order were:
Father Henri Nouwen
Pope John Paul II
Father Raymond Brown
Father William J. Bausch
Father Walter J. Burghardt
Scott Hahn
Father Anthony de Mello
William Barclay
Father Richard P. McBrien
Father Karl Rahner.
Father Henri Nouwen is also listed among the top authors of mainline Protestant clergy.
